On Top of the World is proud to introduce the RAVE Mobile Safety Alert System. When residents sign up through RAVE, they will receive emergency and general notifications in regards to happenings within the OTOW community. For instance, if a street is closed or water needs turned off to a building they would be alerted of this. In addition, they may receive such information as it relates to community events.

Service Department Requests
If you wish to have a copy of the Wind Mitigation Form mailed on your behalf to your insurance agent, please follow these steps:
- Visit the Service Department at the East Activity Center.
- Fill out a Wind Mitigation Request Form and provide to Service Department.
- Include a check for $15.00 made payable to Parkway Maintenance and Management Co.
- The Service Department will forward to your insurance agent pursuant to your instructions.
- If you or your insurance agent requires anything further, an additional fee may be incurred.

On Top of the World Bus Service: Free service to local shopping centers to all On Top of the World residents. Schedules and pick-up points are listed in the On Top of the World newspaper and this website. For reservations, call 799-3417 ext. 7.
County Bus Service: Regular hourly bus service by PSTA is available in On Top of the World. Schedules are available from the PSTA. Senior discount cards are also available through the PSTA.
Neighborly Transportation: Neighborly Care Network will provide free (donations appreciated) transportation including wheelchair. You must be 60 years of age or older and schedule 7 days in advance. 10 mile limit. 727-573-9444.
Dart: Part of Pinellas Transport Service. $3.00 fee. Requires 24 hour notice in advance. Wheelchair accessible.

Your community news is delivered at the beginning of each month to each building lobby. You may pick up your free copy there or at the newspaper office in the East Activity Center. The On Top of the World newspaper is the best source of information about clubs, organizations, activities and events. The deadline for news is the 15th of each month, for the following month. Volunteers help to write and edit the newspaper. For information, please call 799-3216.
Lost and Found
Turn in and recover all lost items at the Activity Director’s office in the East Recreation Center. Items are kept for six (6) months.
Check the monthly On Top of the World Newspaper and Bulletin Boards in both Recreation Centers and in each building for current information.
Public Pay Phones
On the front porches of both Recreation Centers.
A photo ID/Activity card is issued to all resident owners and all renters with a six month lease or longer. To use the Recreation facilities, residents must have a current and valid activity card. Card issue and yearly updating is available Monday through Friday 8:30am – Noon and 12:30pm – 3:00pm at the Customer Service Office in the East Activity Center, except on holidays. Lost cards should also be reported to the Customer Service Office. The cost to replace an Activity Card is $25.00.
Owners who rent their units must request forms in order to obtain an Activity Card for their renters. You must provide the Renter’s name, building address and unit number. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope and send to: OTOW Activity Card Department, 2069 World Parkway Blvd East, Clearwater, FL 33763. These applications are available upon request by mail only and must be completed by the Unit Owner of record.
The bulletin boards in each building are for community information only. Advertising and solicitations of any kind are prohibited.
Bicycling & Walking
For your protection, walk to the left, facing traffic. When driving, especially at dusk, be alert for walkers and cyclists. Walkers should carry flashlights and wear light colored clothing with reflective material. Always carry your ID with you.
Deliveries & Moving Trucks
For your protection, pick-ups and deliveries are prohibited before 7:30 am and after 5:00 pm. All deliveries must be made through the Belcher Road gates. No deliveries on Sundays and Holidays.
Please be a responsible pet owner. All pets must be on a leash when outside your unit. Do not allow your pet to run freely. Pick up after your pet. A plastic bag over your hand works great. Dispose of the bag in trash cans only. Never place feces in the ground water catch basins located in the curbsides. If your pet makes a mistake while in the center core, it is your responsibility to clean it up. It is not the building worker’s responsibility to clean up after your pet. Do not allow your pet to bark continuously while you are away. Never tie your pet outside. The community rules apply to all pet owners. Pet owners in violation of community rules are subject to fines by the Association.
Traffic laws must be observed. Obey stop signs and posted speed limits. Be conscientious of turn lanes and pedestrians at all times.
You may park your car in your apartment’s designated space only. Each unit is provided one (1) parking space. Assigned spaces may not be changed without written authorization from the Board. Visitors may use designated visitor parking (V) only. Do not park in spaces on adjacent buildings. Recreational vehicles and trailers may not park in lots or on the street. Permits to park in the RV/trailer storage lot are available from the Service Department. Application, payment of fee, and proof of insurance are required. The Association takes no responsibility for damage or loss to parked vehicles.
Modifications and Remodeling
To replace carpet with hard flooring (ceramic or wood), install a satellite dish, replace your AC unit, install hurricane shutters or window protection, awnings, modify patios (front and/or rear), add handrails, install new windows, or landscaping of any kind, owners MUST obtain written authorization from the Association PRIOR to any change, modification or installation. Unit owners who do not obtain authorization violate local building code, and or Life Safety Code and are subject to Code enforcement by the County and fines by the Association. Applications for Modification are available from the Service Department. Building committees wishing to change out mailboxes and refinish walkways and stairwells must also submit a Modification Application. NOTICE TO UNITS IN ALL BUILDINGS, EXCEPT 64, 65, 67-70, 77, 78, 85 and 90: In order to have a washer and dryer you must have a valid permit issued by the Building Department on file with the Association.
The Good Neighbors Organization
The Good Neighbors Organization is a not-for-profit organization of residents who welcome and encourage all On Top of the World residents to participate and volunteer for the varied activities available at On Top of the World. The Good Neighbors sponsor the following projects:
- The Get Acquainted Meeting: 2nd Thursday of every month.
- Blood Pressure Checks: Free on the second Monday, 8:30 – 10:30 am from October through May in the East Recreation Center.
- Benches: The concrete rest benches strategically located throughout On Top of the World are provided and maintained by Good Neighbors.
- Building Representatives: Good Neighbors in each building volunteer and provide the following: greet and introduce new residents to the clubs and activities at On Top of the World, present the Good Neighbors Booklet, coordinate the VIAL OF LIFE program and maintain building bulletin boards
- Clothing Drive: Held in the Spring and Fall, donated clothing is collected and given to local charities.
June 1st through November 30th is Hurricane Season and the time to start thinking seriously about dealing with the risk and inconveniences that may be encountered during and immediately after a storm. Your Association makes every effort to prepare for storm events by securing potential hazards, protecting buildings and Association related assets, and making sure we have an updated recovery plan. Key personnel are on-call before and after a storm. Water and Wastewater personnel are moved on-site to make sure that essential utility services are protected and the chance of interruption is minimized. Tarps (in limited supply) are kept on hand to secure homes in the event of roof damage.
Despite all of our efforts, much of your own safety and comfort depends entirely on you. To that end, the following key points will help you prepare for a storm event:
- Designate as a “post-disaster contact,” a relative or friend who lives outside the danger zone. Make sure each family member has been given this person’s address and phone number, and agrees to contact him or her following the hurricane.
- Keep on hand at least one week’s supply of bottled water and nonperishable food items. You should also have available a manual can/bottle opener, a flashlight, and a battery operated radio or television (with an extra set of batteries for each). Make sure these items are readily accessible, so that you can quickly pack and evacuate.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of everything in your home. Taking photos and/or making videotapes of these items may help support the value you place on them. Also, consider storing valuable items at a secure location away from the house.
- Remove furniture from porches or patio and secure hoses so that these objects do not become dangerous or lethal projectiles during a storm.
- Stock up on items you may need to protect your home or to prevent it from being further damaged after the storm has passed. These items may include, but are not limited to tarps or plastic, hammers, nails and plywood.
- Make sure your family is trained on how to turn off damaged utilities.
- At least once per year, review your insurance coverage to make sure it is adequate and up to date.
When a hurricane threatens, immediately take these steps:
- Refill prescriptions.
- Make sure your car has a full tank of gas as power outages may force gas stations to remain closed for several days following a hurricane.
- Store important documents and other valuable items in waterproof bags.
- Bring inside, any loose items that may be found around your unit. Firmly tie down loose items that cannot be brought indoors.
- Tape, board or shutter windows.
- Have enough cash on hand to last at least a full week. Banks and ATMS may be closed for several days following the storm.
Here are some suggestions on what to do during a hurricane:
- Stay tuned to a battery-operated radio or television for weather bulletins and important information.
- Follow the orders of local authorities.
- Stay indoors in an interior room without windows (even if you have evacuated, inland locations may still be at risk). If conditions worsen, take shelter in a closet or bathroom and use mattresses to protect yourself.
- Don’t assume the hurricane is over when the wind subsides. The calm may be the eye of the storm, and the worse part may still be on the way.
- If the electricity goes out:
- Use a flashlight – not a candle or match. You do not want to take the risk of igniting gas from a broken line.
- Open your refrigerator only when absolutely necessary. This will help keep food fresh for as long as possible.
After the hurricane has passed:
- Don’t venture outside until local authorities have issued an “all-clear.”
- Continue to check the radio or TV for post hurricane updates.
- If you have evacuated, don’t return until authorities re-open your area. Remember, you may need proof of residency to return.
- Use a flashlight to look at damage. Allow only those people who have been trained, to turn off damaged utilities (e.g. gas) and disconnect damaged appliances.
- Beware of downed power lines and other debris.
- Wear sturdy shoes and clothing to protect yourself. People are often times hurt more frequently after the hurricane than during it.
- Use only bottled water. Unless otherwise advised, assume tap water is contaminated and sewer lines are out of order.
- If electrical power was lost during the hurricane, be extremely careful before consuming food taken from your refrigerator. When in doubt, throw it out.
- Use the phone only for emergencies.
- Conserve water! DO NOT WASH DRIVEWAYS OF DEBRIS. If the power is out and you still have water pressure it is only because the water plant is running on auxiliary power.
Proper insurance coverage can help reduce the financial burden you may suffer as a result of a hurricane. Here are some additional tips that will make the claims process easier for you and your claims adjuster.
- Don’t alter the condition of the damaged property. Take whatever steps are necessary to protect your property from further damage.
- Contact your insurance agent as soon as possible. Provide your agent or insurance carrier all information pertaining to your claim.
- Make a list of damaged or destroyed property. Your adjuster will be able to work more quickly if he or she has a written list to work from. Photos of damaged property may also be useful.
- Keep records and receipts for ALL expenses you incur. Supplies purchased to protect damaged property, or the costs incurred while staying at a hotel while your home is being repaired, may be recoverable.
- Try to be patient. Once you report your claim, your claims adjuster will respond as quickly as possible. Delays may be likely, as hurricanes often uproot signs and deposit debris on highways, severely impeding traffic.

The Good Neighbors Organization, in coordination with the Inlays County Emergency Management Team, the Fire Department and the Health Department is compiling a list of residents who are dependent on medical devices which would be affected by an electrical power outage. If you are dependent on an electrically powered medical device, BE SURE TO REGISTER. Contact the Pinellas County Health Department. Residents who are registered will be contacted by the Fire Department prior to an imminent storm in order to place them in a location with emergency power. If you agree to go, the Fire Department will evacuate you. BE ADVISED: IT IS POSSIBLE TO BE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY, TELEPHONE OR WATER DURING OR AFTER A HURRICANE.
Remember: Think. Be Prepared, Plan Ahead. Be Safe. Take a Breath and Be Calm.

- Feeding Coyotes is illegal. They will lose their fear of humans.
- Secure garbage cans. Clean up pet food and fallen fruit.
- Keep pets in enclosed areas. Walk dogs on a short leash.
